As I’m sure most people have noticed, Andrew’s hair has gotten crazy long! This boy has amazing hair for sure. He has already had 7 hair cuts and since my family was visiting from California, I thought it would be so fun for them to see him get his hair cut at our favorite little kid salon–Shortcuts–at International Plaza in Tampa. We had a full day of shopping planned, to include Swedish lunch at IKEA (my sister had never been to one before). Well, we ended up arriving to the mall starving so we opted for the food court because Andrew had no patience and I was getting pretty hungry as well. It was the first time ever we’ve taken both boys on an outing. While Aidan was happily fast asleep, we got lunch and found a table. My sister was excited to try Chik-Fil-A for the first time and Andrew was excited to eat pretty much anything we were eating. He climbed up onto the booth between us and sat smiling, so proud of how big he was. Drew tried to put him in the high chair and he patted the seat and said, “Chair here.” It was so cute to see how excited he was to sit with us, so we let him. He had fun and even managed to do a little dance while peeking over. Yes, we’ve become those people. But really, he has great manners and other than trying to escape a few times, he was pretty well-behaved.
Walking through the mall was so fun for him. He still enjoys being able to walk on his own. We ask him to hold hands with at least one person, but he just loves it. He loved riding the elevator, going up and down the escalators repeatedly with Daddy while Raff and Kristi and my mom were shopping (he kept asking for more and more!), and throwing coins in the fountain. To make it even more fun, the nice sales rep at the Verizon store gave him a red balloon. He was on cloud 9! 🙂
Unfortunately, we discovered that Shortcuts is no longer at International Plaza and their only other location (that we know of) is in Miami. We were super disappointed, but someone at the mall told us about another kid place in Wesley Chapel, so we decided to go another day since we had run out of time. After a fun afternoon at the mall, Drew, my mom, the boys, and I headed home to quickly plan Kristi’s surprise party later in the evening.
Here are some photos from our fun afternoon:
