Andrew’s Great Nana sent him a Gift Card for the Disney Store for his birthday last year when he turned one. We thought it would be a fun idea to save it until he could go pick something out himself. Well, we finally made our trip to the Disney Story about a week after Andrew’s second birthday. Since Nana lives 3,000 miles away, I had to video the experience so she could see how much fun he had! I am so glad I did because this is the most adorable video and we’ve watched it over and over!
I really love the idea of letting him choose what he wanted all by himself. At home, I usually let him choose between two shirts to wear for the day, a book to read, or other little things. But giving him so many options to choose from was a new experience for him. This is the first time we’ve let him walk “free” in a store before. Usually, he either holds our hands, is carried, or rides in his stroller. Needless to say, he had SOOO much fun exploring the store “all by himself!” Such a wonderful memory! Thank you, Nana!
Please note: Background music is “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” by Disney Channel Stars on the album Disney Mania 4. I do not own any rights to this song but I did purchase it from iTunes for use in this video and you should, too 🙂
