December is such a fun month! Everything comes alive with lights and decorations, fun family events pop up all over town, and we all give ourselves a free pass to enjoy all the treats! I’m sure most of you share a love for Christmas movies, so why not make it an event with a family-friendly charcuterie board to enjoy during your favorite movie?!
I put together a selection of fun and healthy snacks mixed with a few treats as well and my kids loved it! We had so much fun snacking on everything as we watched Home Alone 1, 2, and 3 for a fun family movie night! Also, watching movies I watched as a kid with my own kids was really pretty awesome!
DIY Family-Friendly Charcuterie Board:
I wanted to incorporate red and green as much as possible for a festive display, so here’s what I came up with:
The main board includes:
Ham, Salami, Turkey, Pepperoni, and Sausage; Green, red, and yellow peppers; cucumbers; cheese; broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots.
I added a bowl of crackers and pretzels for the kids!
Then, I added some artichoke hearts for myself (my favorite!), a variety of cheese spreads, jalapeno artichoke dip, and ranch dip for the kids.
Treats:
I also added a plate of fresh strawberries with cookies and marshmallow fluff dip with Christmas sprinkles, and Christmas cereal mixed with Chex mix and holiday Sixlets.
I told the kids that for each helping of meat, cheese, and veggies they ate, they could have some treats. It totally worked, by the way! The kids not only loved having snacks for dinner, but they had fun serving themselves, also!
We had such a great time sharing some yummy snacks with the kids while watching Christmas movies! I love the idea of doing something like this at least once a month. It makes dinner a breeze and it’s a fun experience for everyone to share together!
