Being a mom of two boys is SO much fun! They are currently 2 and 3 (almost 4) and they LOVE hands-on activities, so we thought tonight would be a great night to make our own pizzas for dinner together! First, we went shopping for the supplies. Then, we layed out all of the ingredients.
Prepping for the Pizza Party:
What’s great about DIY Pizzas is that you can use any kind of toppings. Both boys love Hawaiian pizza, so we went with pineapple chunks, bacon, and cheese. You can make your own dough from scratch, buy premade dough, dough mix, or ready-to-bake pizza crust. We went with the easiest option so that we could make our pizzas as soon as we got home! I put all of the ingredients into bowls so that it would be easy for the boys.
The boys were SO excited to make pizzas together! Daddy took them to wash their hands while I layed out the ingredients. I put foil over a cookie sheet for easy cleanup. I sprayed non-stick cooking spray on the foil and preheated the oven to 450 degrees. And we were ready to begin! (They are the cutest! I’m a lucky mama!)
Make Your Own Pizza, Toddler & Preschooler Style:
The first step is to carefully brush oil over the pizza crust. The boys loved “painting” their pizzas! Aidan loved it so much he had to take a bite! Such a silly boy, always making us laugh!
Then, it’s time to put the sauce over the pizza.
I convinced Aidan not to take a bite at this step….. and then came the cheese!
and more sampling from Aidan…..
and more sampling!
Next, we added our pineapple!
and it passed Aidan’s taste test! Then, we added bacon bits!
And finally, we added one final layer of cheese on top!
Check out our pizzas! The boys were SO proud that they made them all by themselves! (And you’ll notice Aidan’s is missing quite a bit from all the sampling!)
We cooked the boys’ pizzas for just 10 minutes and then they were ready to cool and eat!
The BEST part of the boys making their own pizzas is they got to enjoy them! They ate so well and it were so proud of their work! I’m a proud mama for how cute they are and what a great job they did. I think we may make this a weekly thing!
